Hoosier Cruisers Have a Great Time at Badlands

Hoosier Cruisers Have a Great Time at Badlands.

The Hoosier Cruisers most recent meeting and trail ride was held in Attica Indiana at Badlands on September tenth and eleventh.  Some members showed up on the ninth to set up camp Saturday morning we all met in the upper parking lot to get everything ready and meet some new faces.  There was eleven members plus six guests.  Two of the guest brought a vehicle to wheel one Jeep and one Samurai.  We had five forty series, three sixty series, and two eighty series in attendance. Once the wheeling got under way we was having a blast.  Other than in the creek there wasn’t much water, which probably helped keep us out of some trouble.  By the end of the first day we only had two small problems.  Jim caught his muffler on something in his eighty and knocked it loose, nothing a piece of bailing wire couldn’t temporarily fix.  Clint on the other hand had to make the trip back home that evening to get another ram horn manifold for this forty. He dropped down on something and busted the manifold just above the collector. Saturday night brought about a real good cook out and conversation followed by the business meeting.  By general consensus it was decided that this was one of the best meetings we had had.  One new member was voted in, Chad.  By nine in the morning, all was fixed, and we were ready to go at it again, minus a few members who had to get home.  With eight cruisers ready to go we hit the RTI ramp just to get some poser pictures first thing.  At the ramp we discovered that Richard had busted a shock loose either on the ramp or the previous evening.  So he had to run off and get that fixed up before we took off for the trails.  Sunday turned out to be another great day.  We went down through the woods and up into the sand dunes, then back into the creek. When we made it to the tubes AJ, driving a forty, discover he had lost all power to the front wheels.  Rather than tear anything else up he called it a day. Ron caught a rocker panel in his sixty series on the top of a hill and gave it a little dent.  Richard stripped a nut in his steering box right at the end of the day.  A lot of fun, and hopefully the damage is all really easily repairable.

The Hoosier Cruisers will be back at Attica in December for another great weekend to benefit Toys for Tots. We hope to see you there.  Until then be safe and keep it upright.
